Hernandez/Captain Wedding

We had the best time shooting this wedding at the beautiful Mansion at Oak Hill. Sylvia and Kevin are such a laid back, sweet couple who love good jam bands, celebrating with family and each other very much. It was a wonderful combination of two cultures and we felt honored to be able to capture the memories of their special day

Jacob's Birth Story

It's amazing to me that it takes one action, one little tiny swimmer and one tiny egg and one huge act of God, or whatever you want to call it, to make something so miraculous as a child.  I didn't witness my own child being born, I lived it.  To see the act of child birth is amazing.  It's like nothing I've ever witnessed and I want to see it again and again.  To see Carrie, Jacob's mommy, in such pain, but knowing the result will be a baby, she did it without question.  For Carrie and John, this is baby number five.  Carrie did not use drugs for any of her babies, she did it all natural.  She is my hero.  She took the pain with silence and did so in such a beautiful way, I can't even describe it.  John stood by wishing he could take her pain away.  Jacob was born at 5:47 with one big push, he entered their wonderful family.  When he was placed on Carrie's chest it was such a emotional and beautiful moment.  The joy on her face was like nothing I've seen.  I'm not going to lie, it brought tears to my eyes.  So without further ado, here is Jacob.....

And baby makes four.....

Not really sure I can express to you what these pictures mean to me.  I've been taking my best friends pictures for years now and this is the first time I get to share them!!!  Angie and Allen are so close to my heart, I love them so much.  I made friends with baby Ethan this trip and it made me want to pack up my whole family and move there.  Angie was amazing, she had every venue picked out and they were amazing.  It helps to have someone who knows you, because every place we shot was drool worthy!!  I can't wait to meet the new baby, thank you for letting me part of baby number two's first memories.  I love you guys so much.

Month 2...

Well, not gonna lie, this month has been rough. I started the month in a depressed state, finally pulled myself out of it, only to find I didn't work out and wasn't eating at all what I was suppose to. Then I got sick, again, off the band wagon. I hated the way I felt, but was determined to get back to the gym. Unlike every other time that I get off track, I actually went back to the gym and haven't stopped. So, yes, I had a setback and I think for sure you can tell. Nothing has changed and I could get down on myself, but instead of doing that I'm going to pat myself on the back. Usually after I have two weeks of bad eating and no gym, I wouldn't go back. I would have just given up and not gone back for a year. This time I'm going to fight hard and I'm going to see a change. Even though the pictures don't tell too much, I can tell! I feel better, I notice changes and I'm motivated to get to my goal.
It's amazing to me the people who have asked about my weight loss journey! I wasn't going to post pictures this month. I told one of my clients that it really wasn't worth it, I wasn't posting. She told me I had to! I had a moment, she was right (Thank you Carina). No matter how hard this is going to be and even if I've failed for a month, I have to keep on and post my pictures. I want you to see that this is part of it, good and bad. Everytime someone asks me how it's going, it motivates me. I've even found that people are asking my mom, which makes me want it even more. It's not going to be easy, but I will do it. I will make everyone proud!!!
Thank you all for the support. AND good luck to everyone on their journey!!

Boudoir 2012!

Let us just start by saying, "sorry"! We have not forgotten about our blog or any of our readers. I think we got a little caught up with the holidays and then with fun shoots. But, here we are and ready to show you some of our newest work. This is our third annual boudoir marathon and it's the best turn out we've had! We can't begin to tell you how much fun these shoots are for us. It gives us a chance to REALLY know you and for us to be super creative. I think the best part for us is making the girls feel beautiful. We have professional stylists come in for hair and make-up and then they are ready for the camera. Now we don't just get your every day, run of the mill stylist! We only use the best...so a big thank you to Amelia Ehrgott and Ashley Anderson. I don't have to say much about them, the pictures speak for themselves. Amazing! The girls wear things they don't normally wear and they feel amazing. It's amazing for us too! Some of the women do it for their husbands, boyfriends, fiance's, but more than not, they do it for themselves. It's an empowering feeling! So, here is a peak at some of our photos. This isn't everyone, because it's not Valentine's day and for some it's still a secret!

Progress...

Add Image

First pictures
So, these past 4 weeks have been a real eye opener. I have found that I love working out, but don't want to do it all the time. I work out about 4-5 times a week and am finding small changes in my body every day. I've also found that this is going to take a lot longer than it's ever taken me to lose weight. I guess age does that! I'm giving myself a year to get to my goal weight. Me and food have a very bad relationship, so it's going to take me awhile to get that under control. Now, that being said, I am doing much better with it than I have ever in my life. I'm writing everything down with My Fitness Pal (thank you Jeni Selm for reminding me about it), I'm trying food I typically don't like, I'm eating less, butter and I have broken up (with an affair on the side every once in awhile) and my saving grace is my green monster shakes! Most important is my working out. I know that if I stop, my progress will stop. The encouragement I'm getting is amazing! I really don't think I would keep up this pace if it weren't for people's kind words (and the fact that I have to post pictures every month). So, here's my first months progress pictures. Please be kind, it's a slow process!!! Thanks for the encouragment everyone!!! Oh yeah, I'm down 10 lbs!!!!!

My Journey

I know it's not Feb. 1st yet, but wanted to update everyone on my progress. This is week 3 and I feel great! I've been going to the gym 4-5 times a week and really trying my best to eat better. I think that's the hardest part, is the eating. I love food! I've found that I have to totally reprogram my brain to think about food. I'm really thinking about what goes into my body and is it worth it?Okay, I do confess that this past weekend was not a good one (food wise). Fun wise, I had a blast!!! Another thing that has been hard is not beating myself up or giving up if I have a bad day. BUT, even with the bad days I've still seen some changes in my body! And, I have lost about 8 lbs, but more than that I'm looking at inches and they are going down too! It's very exciting! It's going to take a long time to get where I need to be, but I didn't get this way overnight either! I do have a lot more energy and find I have a lot more patience. I also enjoy working out by myself, but it really does help to have a buddy. Lara is my workout buddy and she's on the same path. I'm enjoying my journey and hope everyone else that's doing it is enjoying theirs too!!!

Thanks so Much,
Gwen
